our story
For the companions who shaped our lives
Pumpkin & Nova was born from grief — and from the belief that a keepsake you can hold in your hands changes everything.
Why “Pumpkin & Nova”
In the winter of 2026, we lost Pumpkin, our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. That emptiness made us realize how much a keepsake you can hold — not just a photo — could comfort. Soon after, we welcomed Nova, a dog taken in by a northern Québec animal-rescue organization, who had just given birth to nine beautiful puppies. She carries hope and new beginnings. Our workshop brings both their names together, Pumpkin & Nova — one in memory, the other very much alive at our side. We create with them in mind, to help families honour the companions who lit up their lives.
Pumpkin & Nova
Two companions are at the origin of Pumpkin & Nova.
Pumpkin
In loving memory
It was losing Pumpkin that set everything in motion: the need to keep something tangible, a texture to touch when words fall short. Pumpkin & Nova was born of that absence — and of the wish to give others what we so wanted to hold.
Nova
Our namesake
Nova, our rescue full of life, gave the workshop its name. She reminds us every day why these bonds matter — and why they deserve to be celebrated, for a long time.
