Nova was born from grief — and from the belief that a keepsake you can hold in your hands changes everything.
This winter, we lost Pumpkin, our Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. That emptiness made us realize how much a keepsake you can hold — not just a photo — could comfort. Soon after, we welcomed Nova, a dog rescued from an Indigenous community who had just given birth to nine beautiful puppies. She carries hope and new beginnings, and gives our studio its name. We create in memory of Pumpkin — to help families honor the companions who lit up their lives.

In their memory
It was losing Pumpkin that set everything in motion: the need to keep something tangible, a texture to touch when words fall short. Pumpkin & Nova was born of that absence — and of the wish to give others what we so wanted to hold.
Our namesake
Nova, our rescue full of life, gave the studio its name. She reminds us every day why these bonds matter — and why they deserve to be celebrated, for a long time.
